MANUFACTURING ENGINEER - ANTENNA MFG (KULIM)

Job Description:

1) Lead the Antenna Manufacturing Team.
• Staff the work cells to meet the goals and objectives of the department. Maintain a good cross-training program and a strong succession plan to accommodate changes in Antenna Mfg and business needs.
• Communicate expectations of individual job responsibility, objectives and goals. Hold periodic team meetings to review performance result and current objectives.
• Ensure that employees are given proper training, tools, and resources to execute their responsibilities. Develop, motivate, and challenge employees to perform to their full potential.
• Provide employees with frequent and timely feedback and performance reviews that are quantitative and qualitative based on measurable objectives, general work attributes, and skills development.
• Develop Manufacturing systems to meet the Operation’s Quality & Environmental requirements (enforcement of PPE & etc).

2) Support the T&L Business unit business development effort with current and
potential product and/or customer.
• Assure the Antenna Mfg team is trained in the process development and support all BU & Engineering new product / process development initiatives.
• Participate in Engineering/ internal meetings and audits. Effectively present Antenna Mfg processes, initiatives and improvement plans to the team.

3) Optimize the overall process and ensure that all metrics are measured for improvement.
• Execute all Manufacturing processes/functions according to the business objectives and procedures. Continuously improve efficiency, accuracy, and effectiveness of the processes/functions. Drive down overall cost of manufacturing including UPH, head counts, direct & in-direct expenses, material scrap and poor yields due to manufacturing related defects.
• Continuously improve and define the most efficient processes.
• Prioritize initiatives and create implementation plans in conjunction with company goals.
• Develop supporting metrics for Antenna Mfg processes to support the key goals.

4) Preventive Maintenance.
• Improving Antenna Mfg facilities, reducing the incident of costly breakdown and developing strategies to improve overall reliability and safety personnel and processes.
• Designing maintenance strategies, procedures, and methods.
• Planning routine maintenance of plant, equipment and machinery.
• Responding to daily equipment trouble and assist in troubleshooting, evaluation and trouble reporting.
• Tracking equipment downtime and trouble history and prioritize maintenance activity, including PM, overhauls, and replacements.
• Investigate, propose and implement maintenance activities and projects to
improve profitability.
• Develop detail plans for process equipment investments.
• Support departmental functions with technical understanding and know-how, as well as supporting maintenance associates with skill development and equipment improvement ideas.

5) Communication.
• Participate in meetings.
• Maintain a overall prospective when making process, procedure or decision making.
• Co-ordinate Antenna Mfg initiatives and facilitate the sharing of best practices.
• Metrics corrective action to be implemented and communicated.

6) Others:
• Provide daily and/or periodical report as requested by management.
• Perform any other job assigned by management from time to time.
• Participate & support all company and corporate initiatives such as ISO9001, CRM, Safety, Environment initiatives, etc.


Job Requirements:

- A Degree or Diploma (more than 5 years of working experience).
- 3-5 years' related experience (wet chemical processes i.e. etching, plating, PCB board making, etc) in the electronics manufacturing industry and 2-3 years' supervisory experience.
- Strong skills with proven track record in manufacturing functional processes, communication, leadership, problem solving & analysis, process development and change management are required.
